When GOD began to create the earth, the earth was in darkness. God said "Let there be light".

Since darkness preceded the light God placed the evening before the morning and declared the first day.

Days of the week were numbered 1 through 7; they did not have names as we do today.

I placed the common names on the chart for clarity.

In the Bible Abib or Nissan is the name of the 1st month.
