Shavuot
Pentecost
I. Introduction
A. Pentecost is the LORD'S feast; not Jewish or Christian.
Vayikra (Leviticus) 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
Nu, when is Shavuot? Calendars vary!
15,16 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.
If YHVH wanted a date certain, like 6 Sivan, why use a confusing formula to calculate the date of Shavuot?
Start the day after the Sabbath. Note neither Pesakh nor Khag Matzot are stated to be a Shabbat! Thus, the only Sabbath that can be used is the next weekly Sabbath. Then, count seven full Sabbaths and the evening after that seventh Shabat is the beginning of Shavuot (weeks)!
